When calculating the load for an optional standby generator how do you figure motor loads. I seem to recall something about locked rotor amps but can't find it now.:-?

Thanks, Bryan.bphgravity said:Don't worry about the LRC of motors when sizing optional standby systems. Just use one of the methods outlined in Article 220. Motors are covered in 220.50, which refers you back to Article 430.
When all is said and done, you simply need to add 25% to FLC of the motor load.
