Generator manual transfer switch with interlock

I have 30 amp generator can I back feed my panel with a generator interlock installed so the main breaker has to be off before the generator breaker can be turned on ? Is this legal ? Anything else I need to do to make it legal ?

You can use a portable generator with the proper inlet box and interlock that is listed for your particular panel. There are some other requirements regarding signage at the service equipment and at the inlet box like one of these.

Check out NEC 445.18

You should be fine as long as you lock out the circuit breaker.
