We have a project going where there a multiple buildings and power meters and are trying to get them all combined in to one system.
The plan so far is to put a 400 Amp service on a small shop building by the pole and transformer and then branch a 200 amp UG feeder to the house, a 200 UG over to a new large shop and something for the small shop (Anything form a 50A sub panel to a 200A with feed through going to one of the other locations). All other buildings will be run form the house or new shop.
The trouble is they REALLY want a generator plug in that can run anything from the one point and all the 400Amp meter main combos we have found break to 2x 200a breakers, so as soon as you turn one off (with an interlock plate of course) the other half is dead too.
Has anyone came up with a way to feed everything and still have power disconnected form the service in a way that the power company will not scream about?
Our best plan so far seems to be putting a 40A gen plug and interlock on a Siemens MC0816B14RLTM and then with feed another pnl with the other 200 main and do the same interlock and breaker there and then feeding both pnls form the one Gen plug. I can not find anything in the code that keeps me from doing this but I am not sure our inspectors will allow the duel feed.
