Generator Power Inlet inside main panel ?

Is it permissible to install a generator inlet directly into an outdoor main breaker load center? The load center only contains the main breaker and the breaker for a sub panel. Normally the inlet would have its own little box, but there is very little space left on the wall and a lot of space inside the load center.

I don't believe it would be compliant to adapt the listed enclosure for another purpose. 110.3 would not allow it as you would be modifying the listing
