A temporary generator will supply power to a building until the utlity can get their gear in place. The client has asked if the temp gen's power will be just as "clean" as the the utility's. I haven't had much experience with temp generators but I believe the generator will supply just as clean if not cleaner power. Any comments or suggestions?

The voltage is not likely to be as stable, depending on the size of the major loads involved and their cycling characteristics.

the loads are just typical office loads, fan powered terminals, electric heater, fluorescent lighting, air handler, etc.

What size generator? The bigger, the better.

Also, it's been my experience that diesel generators have a lower voltage & frequency drop than a natural gas-powered unit.

Gasoline?!. . .Good luck with that.
