generator question

I just purchased a 1000 watt generator (1000 Watt peak 800W continuous) rated at 115 Volts. I want to run a Greenlee vacuum blower off of this. I tried plugging in the blower and it worked. Is there a problem running this if the vacuum is rated at 1450 Watts 120 Volts? Will it damage the generator or the vacuum/blower or just run slower with less power? Any input or comments please

The generator may stall and the vacuum could burn out.
You are overloading the generator.

Your Vac requires about 12 amps, your generator can only provide about 8 amps. Something has got to give. :?
