I am working with a generator (480 volt, 600 amp output) that feeds a (480 volt) PDP. The owner wants to add a disconnect and a transfer switch so that we can install another generator feed in case old generator fails. Transfer switch (manual) will operate permanet generator and will be switch over if needed to mobile if needed. My question is do I install a neutral from disconnect (fused 600 amp, with 350 dual feeds) to the transfer switch. There is not a neutral involved in old generator feed. I don't think one is needed since system is 480 y. Would the disconnect be treated like the service in this case as far as grounding and bonding? Thanks for any help.
