I have 2 generators feeding a building. Each generator has its own overcurrent protection/disconnect. One is primary the other is back-up. These feed a manual transfer switch which then feeds the building. I believe that the transfer switch does not need to be service entrance rated. Other thoughts?

I may be out on a limb on this, but I think it depends on an age old "question" concerning the NEC definition of a "structure". If the generators are in a "structure" or considered to be structures then I would think you have a 225.30 situation and 225.36 would require the disconnecting means to be service rated.
