Customer has a 60 HP three phase pump motor that is started and controlled with an Allen Bradley Constant Torque Starter 1336-B050. They want to place this Pump on generator back-up. This will be the only load on the gen-set. They have a generator available that is rated at 83 amps continuous load. I think it is a 60 KW unit. Any feedback on using this gen-set with this motor.

Your best bet would be to go to the genset mfgr. wih all the nameplate data of the unit you have and the data of the pump motor and have them advise you on wether it will handle it or not.
And if it won't have them tell you what size genset will.

I agree with qcroanoke. There are MANY variables with motors and generators. To me, the manufacturer would be your best bet
