Trying to size size whole house generator using utility company KWH. Is there a calculation for this. Highest month being 14220 KWH

first detemine how you want to use
days or hours?
run close to normal
or emergency bare bones
select the things you want to run
Then add up the loads
heating/clg (use the higher)
hot water
cooking
refrig
a 1 kw misc(may not need to do this)
gen might have plenty of capacity due to std sizes or increase in size required for motor starting (and only when starting)
talk to a supplier
they have sizing tools
14000 or 1400 kwh/month?
that is a $1400+ per month bill!

Not really.
14,220kWH could be 14,220kW for one hour, 200kW for 2 hours per day, or 19kW running 24/7 for 1 month. So which value would you use to pick a generator?
