I am installing an automatic transferswitch for a generac generator.
Attached is a picture of the main panel, currently there is a 100 amp main breaker which is bolted on. I would like to remove the breaker and run wire directly from the meter lugs (Attached to bottom of main breaker) and go directly to the utility side of the transferswitch, then from the load side if the transferswitch, back to the main panel.
My question: since the transferswitch will be the main disconnect, can I put a 100 homeline breaker in the panel, fed from the loadside of that transfer switch, which will be the shutoff for that panel?
