i have a question, i know when we have a fire pump it is usually wired before the main or circuited to a circuited breakers a 6 times, so that the fire pump will burn up before it is disconnected. now our client (already has the fire pump circuited to a 300amp breaker) wants to put the fire pump on a generator along with other pumps.
we have a 50hp fire pump,a 150kva generator, with this, do we need a second transfer switch for the fire pump? the generator has a 300amp c/b.
on the generator the owner wants on it, the fire pump, 1 elevator (34.4 amps), 1 10hp pump(14amps) 1 3hp pump(4.8amps) and some lights.
can i gets some help thanks

I don't see what a second transfer switch will buy......

The existing 300a breaker is now feeding only the fire pump(lets call this normal power),your customer wants to introduce a 150KW Gen with an onboard 300a breaker, a transfer switch, an Essential Bus with all additional critical loads. Reconnect the fire pump to the essential bus, reconnect the normal power to the transfer switch.

Operation would be..... all loads operate at normal power,in the event that normal power is lost the generator kicks in along with a transfer cycle, now everything is on the generator. The critical motors/lights will allow for personnel evacuation.

I don't see an application for another transfer switch.
