Does anyone out there have any knowledge of retrofitting circuit breakers into existing emergency standby generators ?...............I need to have an additional circuit breaker fitted for a Life Safety Load ATS (lighting). According to 'As Built' drawings the CAT generator appears to have (2) existing circuit breakers for other loads, however im not sure how easy it would be to add a further circuit breaker in the field.

Any replies are much appreciated.

The best bet is to contact the manufacturer to maintain the UL listing. If it's possible, they would know the fastest easiest way also.

Assuming you have determined the generator can handle the additional load? If not, highly recommended.

I agree 110% especially since this appears to be a hospital generator.
