For the 7ke standby General, you’ll need what they call a 200A ATS “smart switch”.
You can use the wireless Smart Management Modules for load-shedding on your appliances. It’s a small plastic enclosure with a 50A contactor inside. It connects wirelessly to the ATS smart switch.
The ATS also has relays inside that you connect to the HVAC; it’s a make/break relay that intercepts the t-stat power.
Typically you’d just run a 2-wire cable to the HVAC components from the ATS, then install the smart management modules at your electric appliances; water heater, range, dryer, etc...
You can link up to 8 SMM’s to a transfer switch.
