I took the unrestricted exan 2 times last year and missed it by 4 points both times. The main part of my test was pretty much lookup in the NEC and some to do with Ga contracting laws. I didn't past because of the questions on transformers and motor calculations. I took the restricted test the next time and passed with an 86 but no transformer of motor calc's. I did bring my electricalc pro calculator and the head proctor allowed it. Make sure there is NOTHING taped inside ANY of your references or you will be losing pages. At the last test, they tried to say that we couldn't even have any notes written in the ref books but they changed at the last minute. Make sure you spend the $50 or so on the Ga contractors something or other book it WILL come in handy. Get ready for 2 4 hour sessions.
