Can anyone verify which NEC will be used on the next Masters Exam in Georgia? I cant seem to find the answer anywhere on the state website. And while I'm asking....I am 21 years old. Is there a certain age you must be to sit for the exam? I have all of the required experience. Just curious if they might deny my application because of my age. Thanks guys!

I think the age is ok at 21 but you must have 4 years actual exp under a lic electrician.
Ga is still currently uing the 2005 NEC ( check the reference list in the info package that you can download)

Just took it in oct. and used the 2005 NEC, as for the age If you have the time required I do not see how age is a factor. I would call the state they were very helpfull with any of my questions.

Does anyone know whether GA will allow THs Key Word Index into the exams?

NO!
Everyone told me they would; when they came to check my stuff, that was the first thing they took. Don't worry though, you won't need it. The NEC index works just fine for the test. All I took was a code book and the ugly's book. That's really all you need and the only thing i recommend you take. The poor guy next to me had every book on the reference list, tabbed, and didn't finish the test because he was so busy searching his reference books to be certain he got the right answer.

I was able to use my keyword when I took my Georgia test it just had to be inserted in the code book, it could not be a seperate book. They checked every book to be on the approved list and went through every page of my code book looking for hand written notes, they were pretty sticky on NO hand written notes on anything.

my keyword index was in my looseleaf codebook too. when the proctor was walking up to my table, she noticed the color of the pages were different while looking at the top of it. Its not on the approved list, so don't be surprised if they make you take it out. like i said, everyone i knew that took the test had their's with them. they just didn't get caught.

Try the test other than the Atlanta location...Beware of the TEST NAZI !!!
Some of you GA guys that took the Atl test know who I am talking about.

I took my keyword index in with my code book and also a copy in my tax info booklet but only used it a couple of times.

I would take only what was listed as "acceptable" on the list. When I tested (in Atlanta) you couldn't use any kind of fast finder etc. Tabs on NEC were okay and also highlighting. The test will definitely be based on 2005 edition. I remember a couple of guys didn't bring any books at all! They were either real smart or real dumb.;)

When I took it in 94, i had the code book, ugly's and the tax forms. I also had the keyword index in my book, but was never checked.
When we checked they asked if you were taking the restricted or nonrestricted test.
Does the 08 go into effect in July or next year?

i heard the same thing. i took a november test. the schedule for the next year wasn't available then, but when it came out i saw the very next test was in tifton, which is less than an hour from me. that would've been nice to know a couple of months in advance. i think they only have it there every other year though.
