I have not been doing electrical work since 92' and thinking of geting back into it.For the past years I have been selling electrical supplies. I have had two years of electrical traing and keep up with the new code changes. I was a kid out of high school at the time and didn't know what I wanted to do, and quit a good job at the time. And went to selling electrical. Now a co-worker is going to work for contractor and wants me to get back into it, and now that I'm older (34) and like to think wiser, would like to try and get back into the profession again. And stick to it! I like to learn as much as I can about electrical, one reason I have tried to keep up with the code. And would like on the job training to. So what do you guys think? After such a long time is it possible to restart in the trade? I have the most training in residential work.
Thanks for you advise and time!

Tell me this: How old will you be in 10 years if you don't do it? :)

Your Charlieisms never cease to amaze me.
And on that note, I hope you don't mind the plagiarism. :)

cv33, i say there are not enough qualified electricians as it is, we can always use more skilled tradesmen of all trades for that matter. With your background you have a leg up, and i am sure you will do just fine. so more power to you! good luck!

A good licensed electrician in VA start about $20 per hour depending on weather you get into commercial or residential, north part of the state or south. Don't get me wrong i think its all the same, its just a differnet means and method. IMO an electrician is an electrician.
