GFCI a portable motor 480v 3Phase

I have a situation where I have a 480v 3Phase motor that is portable I believe it needs GFCI protection. I have to use a phase converter because I only have 120/240 1Phase on site. If I installed a GFCI breaker on the 120/240v 1phase would it also protect the motor with ground fault protection?
 
It will not. But I have to wonder why you think such a component would require GFCI protection. The only things I can think of that require GFCI are certain 120 volt receptacle outlets and some aspects of pools/hot tubs.
 
It is for a brewery and I am a little worried about self protection. It was just a thought it will be a cord and plug set up. I also could not find any where in code that would require GFCI. Do you feel it is not required also?
