One of the issues raised with the 2002 NEC was the requirement for all 15 and 20 A 125 V receptacles to be GFCI protected in kitchens. HVAC electricians would state: the compressor has leakage to ground on refrigeration equipment and will cause the GFCI trip.
Does the UL standard for refrigeration equipment have a test and limit for leakage?
Does anyone know what the limit is?
Or is the GFCI tripping caused by a faulty compressor?
