I have a question. In finishing my basement, instead of using gfci plugs, I used gfci breakers, thereby insuring the whole run is protected. I have had no problem for 3 months.
This weekend, I turned off the breaker. When I turned off the breaker, I had a shop-vac running(on). When I turned the breaker back on, it trips. Then I looked at the run and forgot I have a full size refrigerator plugged in on the same run.
So I unplugged the shop vac and fridge and the breaker still keeps tripping(there is nothing live on the run of 10 plugs). Could the load from the fridge and shopvac at the same time ruined the gfci breaker when I first turned it back on. My next step is to replace the gfci breaker, because all the wiring was fine before and nothing has been changed.
Any advice?
