Can the receptable be GFCI instead of the breaker since the GFCI breakers lead times is months out due to the demand for breakers.

If so, what is the disadvantage of having a receptacle GFCI instead of a GFCI breaker.

The GFCI breaker we are looking for are 208V/3 Pole 50 and 60 amp.
 
That what I thought too.
But the contractor said if he can install a 3Pole, 60AMP or 50 AMP GFCI receptacle instead of a GFCI breaker.
 
also keep in mind the GFCI must be in a readily accessible location....

Yes, that is an option. Others make this as well-Little Fuse, Bender off the top of my head. Just be careful in ordering that you are specifying Class A GFCI (4-6 ma) as these things are often available with other than Class A protection for other applications.
