Can you place a GFCI receptacle on each leg of the multiwire branch circuit if you've pigtailed the neutrals?

Yes, you can but you need a dp breaker

Thanks for the reply. Will the fact that I have a combination AFCI (double pole) breaker create a problem at all?

Your pigtailing the line side of the gfi? Correct? Load side, they will need to be separate. Two pole afci shouldn’t make a difference.

Pigtailing the neutral in the junction box of first GFCI so that the neutral reaching the second GFCI is completely disassociated from the first GFCI - no connections on load side of first GFCI.
