Yes sir. Just the fact that this is a relatively new convince store, and built in affiliation with Shell, my gut is thinking QOB. But, I’ve been wrong plenty times before. I’ll know by 8:00 am tomorrow. In the absence of any better suggestions, I’ll find a small 100amp MLO panel and go that way.
I ran into a situation yesterday that you guys can appreciate. We answered a residential service call for a report of partial power. We found an antiquated meter base with breakers built in. Failed breaker. I’ve seen these before, but I didn’t have one in my pile of junk. It was a Murray, SP 20amp bolt in. It had a model number on it that said 1803 if I recall correctly. Of course everything about the service was 50 years beyond needing to be replaced. And the resident obviously doesn’t have a dime to spare.
We found the breaker at a local liquidator for just under $200. Replacing the breaker would be like putting a band aide on cancer. We will do the right thing and replace the service for next to nothing. We would do it for free, but you could tell their pride would be hurt. We will charge them a little bit and then accidentally leave a gift card behind to a local grocery store.
