I have an ice machine on a counter in a hospital. cord and plug connected. sink is 4ft away. its on a 30a breaker and plugged into a single receptacle by itself. is gfci required
its on a 30A receptacle so its ok. I thought so. thanks
Tom,2017 NEC would require GFCI.
The general GFCI rules are in 210.8. 210.8(A) for dwelling occupancies, and 210.8(B) for non-dwelling occupancies.Tom,
My AHJ ( Hillsborough Co. Fl.), is still enforcing out of the 2011 Edition. Thus I'm barely into 2017.
My question is, the GFCI required protection for a 30A as described herein, what article can you find this requirement in?
I'm just trying to save some time fumbling through the code to research.
