gfci question

does anyone know if gfci protection is required for arcade games, where the
general public will be using them. thanks any info would be helpful.

210.8 doesn't mention arcade games as a reason, by thenselves, that need GFCI protection.

Your question begs the next question. . . what is the location of the arcade game machine?

I would not call an arcade game a "Vending Machine" so unless the arcade game is located within 20' of a pool, or located in any of the areas listed in 210.8(A) or (B) GFCI protection is not required.

(GFCI protection is required in accordance with 422.51)

The intent was probably to include all self-service machines but as that quote goes:
It says what it says, not what you meant it to say, ...
