Yeah, I know. But you have to turn the page to get to Exception number 2 to (5)!:grin:

I don't think the inspector / examiner had fully read the 08 NEC yet, and medical usually isn't a daily thing for them, I think.

517.21 is good, but it can be a AHJ decision as to whether or not there "in the room", or so I've heard. If you do use that, make sure those receptacles use the medical grade wiring standards. If the AHJ questions it, you can make the argument that there is an emergency call button in there, and someone could need patient care in the toilet room.
