I apologize if this has been brought up before.

I have a drawing which specifies that both a GFCI receptacle and circuit breaker be used for the same circuit in two instances; one for a microwave and the other is a refrigerator circuit.

This seems like overkill to me and a potential for nuisance tripping.

Your input is welcome.

thanks,
John

I agree that it is overkill to have both a GFCI breaker and GFCI receptacle on the same circuit.

This arrangement will not create a nuisance tripping situation, ie there would not be anymore chance of either GFCI device tripping due to the addition of the other device. But in case of a ground fault you won't know which device will trip and this could be a nuisance.
