GFCI Required

I know in a commercial kitchen area I need all 125 volts rec's to have GFCI protection. Does anyone know if a 208 single phase rec intended for a cord connection also need to be GFCI protected? If so I assume my only option is a 2 pole GFCI breaker.

If you read the first paragraph of 210.8(B), you will see the basic circuit requirements for the installation of GFCI devices.

I know it's not a valid defense but in a recent arc flash training class the speaker (Electrical Engineer, lots of experience) told me directly if a 208 volt piece of eq is cord and plug connected (in a commercial kitchen) it needed to be GFCI protected. If it's hard wired it's OK. ....Just saying
