GFCI Testing Requirements?

Not sure if this is the correct place for this thread or not. But who and where does it state that GFCI receptacles need tested and at what interval? This is a topic of discussion at our monthly safety meeting and I want to be prepared. Is this an OSHA requirement? I'm not finding anything in the NEC. Thanks Guys!

In the NEC 110.3(B) requires GFCI testing indirectly.

NFPA 70E 110.9(C) says they shall be tested according to manufacturers instructions.
