Hello,

I have a situation where my outside GFCI keeps tripping outside. I have an outside waterfall pump and light connected to a new GFCI which I just installed and when both are plugged in the GFCI trips within seconds. If the light is connected only the GFCI works fine. I used an extension cord and plugged the waterfall into a GFCI, which I have in my kitchen, and the waterfall works fine. After doing more investigation I notice that the freezer in my garage is connected in series via a GFCI to the GFCI on the outside of my house. I thought that maybe there was something going on with the freezer so I unplugged that and plugged my waterfall in and the GFCI on the outside still kicked out. I left the lights connected and connected an electric weed eater and everything ran fine and the GFCI did not kick out. What possibly could be the problem. I did notice that the GFCI I picked up was for the interior with black and red buttons on it while the GFCI I replaced had 2 white buttons on it. Not sure if that would make a difference or not. Please let me know what you think.
