1. Can you put a refridgerator on the line side of a GFCI?
2. Does it void the warranty of the GFCI?
3. Will it ruine the GFCI?
4. An electrician told me that the motor would eventually destroy the
GFCI, and also not to plug a cell phone charger in a GFCI, because, the
constant charging would also destroy the GFCI. Is this true and if so do
you have it in writing?

Quick, somebody close this thread before it gets tainted with giborish and cheesy one liners.
I want to remember it just like it is!

Yes.

Yes.

The weight of a fridge on one edge of a GFCI receptacle could potentially crush it. There is a label on most GFI's stating "Warranty Void If Opened."

Har har har... :D

Re: GFCI

I have a "commerical" chest freezer, 2 years old. the instructions state do not connect to a GFCI protected circuit.
In my classes I have had appilance repair electricans, they state mfgs will not honor warranty if applicance is connected to GFCI and appliance is damaged.
I don't know if its leakage current or the compressor tripping the GFCI on startup

So that company has a problem with the 2005 code. You can't use their product in a commerical kitchen.
