Losing power is bad for critical stuff like sump pumps, so are there any current model GFCIs that don't trip upon self-test failure? Just blink or something...
I know this is not the question.Losing power is bad for critical stuff like sump pumps, so are there any current model GFCIs that don't trip upon self-test failure? Just blink or something...
I know this is not the question.
Sump pumps should be on a simplex.
One of Leviton's sheets says this:Conducts an automatic test every three seconds, ensuring it's always ready to protect. If the device fails the test, the indicator light flashes to signal that the GFCI should be replaced.
You have to read that closely as it doesn't say it trips on a failed self test, but it does say that it can't be reset if it has failed a self test.If the self-test detects any condition that would indicate GFCI protection might be compromised, visual and audible
indicators provide an alert. It also has our patented RESET lockout feature that prevents RESET if the GFCI cannot respond to a ground fault
