In California the inspectors say you have to have a Bubble cover on the weatherproof GFI on the roof. I can see a Gfi on the roof, but why not just a flat cover? This is on a A/c change out.

I am putting a temporary hold on this thread. . This Forum is for electricians, inspectors, engineers, and other persons who make their livelihood from the electrical industry. I cannot tell from your member profile (i.e., ?handyman?) whether or not you fit into this category. The Forum owner does not allow us to give ?how-to? assistance to a person who is not an electrician.

The key question is whether you are licensed (by whatever authority has jurisdiction in your area) to perform the type of electrical work you are describing, or whether, in your area, such a license is even required. Before I can allow this discussion to proceed, I would need you to send me a Private Message explaining the circumstances.
