GFI circuit breakers in switchboards

I am adding new service (utility switchboard as well) to an existing building. One of the distribution panels is 1200 amps and I would like to re-use it by supplying a 3pole/1200 amp circuit breaker to feed the existing 1200 amp panel. I looked in the NEC but did not see when (what size) a GFI circuit breaker is required. The reason I ask is I will have building monitoring system and I don?t want the breaker to be sending false alarms (or worse tripping).
