GFI in Dental exam room?

The way I interpet code 210.8 B 5 exception no.2 is that I dont need to gfi protect outlets in a exam room even if they are within 6 feet of a sink. Does that sound correct to others out there.
This is in a dental exam room. Thanks for any insight.
 
I would have to disagree and say GFCI protection would be required as the dental chair is not a patient bed location as defined in 517.2. Just curiuos,why wouldn't you want to provide GFCI protection here?
 
Depends on your code cycle. In 2011, the exception says patient bed locations. In 2008, the exception says patient care areas.

In 2005, there was no requirement to install gfi's within 6' of sinks (outside of bathrooms.)
