GFI long Distances

Looking at job, 168 Lamp poles. Calculated longest distance at about 3800 feet. 480 volt.




Looking now at specs. There is a mentioning of GFI in poles. How many GFI with no known Loading, can you put on a circuit and at what gauge. Just curious why have GFI's in pole in large pole job.

I would look into precast pole bases that have a junction box to hold a transformer to make the 120 locally.

Kind of interesting of a idea.

But most of the poles are below Grade. Only 6 inch exposure.
