I am curious as to whether there would be any problem of putting a gfi receptacle on an Arc fault circuit.

Some one correct me or if I misunderstood what a inspector told me. If you have a circuit that is afci protected and you have a receptacle that under normal cases would require gfic protection that the gfic was not required because the circuit is afci protected.

The op's question was does a gfi receptacle cause a problem if it is on the arc fault circuit.

No, it will not and I have done it many times. A receptacle off the bedroom on the deck. Not an issue.

I believe this is inaccurate. An arc fault is not a ground fault substitute as far as I know.

I believe that some (Cutler Hammer) AFCI breakers have GFCI protection also, but I think is for equipment and not personnel. I think it has a 30ma threshold.
Yes, that's why I say it is not a substitute

All AFCIs have GFP (30 to 50 mA trip) and are not a substitute for GFCI protection. Cuttler Hammer has a AFCI/GFCI that can be used where both AFCI and GFCI protection is required.
