If using 12/3 home run to the panel as 2 circuits to a kitchen can you install a GFI receptacle on each hot from a single pole breaker and share the neutral if you make it up and split off to each GFI receptacle and feed load side to downstream receptacles? Is there another way to make the 12/3 home run work is this doesn't?

Bad idea all around. I don't know what code version you are under but the 2017 requires afci also. Two single pole breakers cannot be used unless you use handle ties.

So yes, you can split the circuit at the first gfci and share the neutral as long as the neutral is not connected thru the gfci load side. [MENTION=160072]Mark Urban[/MENTION]

Two pole GFCI breaker will work also.

Keep in mind (as mentioned depending on what code cycle applies or any amendments) you likely need AFCI protection also.
