I have a question regarding GFIC breakers tripping in my son resturant electrical panel. He says that there are seven GFIC breakers all right next to each other. Would being right on top of one another cause them to generate to much heat and trip. He says that one that keeps tripping has only one 20amp receptacle on it and is only pulling 5 amps.

My bet is there is a problem with the equipment that is plugged into it. Try another piece of equipment there and see if you get the same results.

Unless the wires are not tight on the breaker it is very unlikely that the heat generated by the GFCI breakers is an issue. The other guys have give some good recommendations to try to sort it out. Moving loads is a good start. If you have a qualified person available you may even want to swap the ckts on the breaker to see if the problem follows the circuit of stays with the breaker.
If is follows the circuit then you have to investigate a possible ground issue. Sometimes it can be as simple as a neutral and ground contact. But you have to start somewhere. But make only one change at a time. If you make more than one then you have to guess which one of the changes is the problem.

Thanks for the replies, I pass on the sugestions. His resturants are in Colorado, I am in Ohio. I will going out that way in April.
