If you have a 2000 amp 277/480 volt service with 6 service disconnect all less then 1000 amp do you still need Ground-Fault Protection of the service?

Though, this is a minimalistic design which in itself may pose other issues.
Given today's climate for NFPA70E, I would provide a single main breaker in its own enclosure. This main would then feed a distribution board.

Yeah but a 2000 amp switch is a pretty pricey item... especially if its not needed.
