Just wondering what general purpose gloves you guys are using. Im trying to decide if I should stick with cuffed leather or go to Nitrile coated. They both give great dextarity.

I am using a new (to me) glove by atg-glovesolutions.com, its the MaxiFlex, its a stretch type glove, with the protection on the fingers and palms. Its the first glove I can leave on most of the time. Not warm though.
I note there are several styles of the maxiflex. I got my at an electrical wholesale house

I prefer this type of glove but I'm too cheap to buy them myself so I'll use them when they're supplied on the job. If I'm buying them myself I use these blue ones from Lowe's you cannot beat the price and they usually last about 3 weeks. In the summer I toss them before they wear out because after a week or so they smell pretty bad.

I have used knit gloves similar to those without any coatings on them for years.

Usually purchase a bulk pack of them, wear one out - throw it away, there is no left or right to them and grabbing any two is always a pair. Get them dirty they wash just like your pants or shirts. Get them wet on the job, go to truck and grab another pair, because they are cheap and you buy bulk packs you have more in the truck.

If you are in extreme cold for long periods of time they are not the right glove, but at same time nothing that allows much for dexterity is the right one for warmth in those conditions, you need to take frequent breaks to warm up if you need thin layer gloves of any sort in those conditions.

Never liked wearing gloves, now it is company policy and, well, I still don't.

When I started in this business 30 years ago I was the only electrician in my company wearing gloves and I was usually mocked for it. Now I find that at times I cannot work without them and still wear them every day. My wife says I have the hands of an accountant, not such a bad thing.

Harbor Freight sells pairs similar to the Lowes blue. Come in yellow. $1.50 each. 3 sizes available. I'll buy a dozen at a time. Surprisingly they last.
I too throw them in the laundry with my work clothes.

I like the Gorilla Grip ones. Cheap and they still allow dexterity. Very handy when dealing with PVC work - no glue to scrape off the hands at the end of the day.
