That said...
1st "1-1/4 pipe" ?? metallic raceway ? may not need a "equip ground 'wire' at all :smile:

Take a look at 250.122 and see if that sheds any light on the subject.

Conductors in parallel will have nothing to do with the answer to your question.

But with that said, have you looked at 310.4?

the EGC is sized according to the largest OCPD protecting the conductors in the raceway. its sized per 250.122 so you probably will need a #10EGC you will also need to size your EGC accordingly to the conductors you use. so even if you have #10s on a 20 amp breaker you will still need a #10 EGC
