Put a bid on a residential service in driveway area. Down through soffit with PVC on primary. Secondary in emt down along driveway. I passed yesterday. It's done. SEU primary around soffit ( at least 10 between supports ) secondary in schedule 40 along driveway. What gives. ??? Is it who you know ? Pretty sure if I did it i would have to rip it out ???
Thanks for letting me vent.

Subject to physical damage is up to the inspector to determine. IMO the driveway requires Sch 80.

What are you calling "secondary" and "primary"?
I think what you are trying to say is "line" & "load" side of meter.
In my area, we can't use PVC if it penetrates the roof, has to be rigid.

Also, why did you say "I passed" then went on to say "if I did it.."?

I think he meant he drove by the location and saw the completed work done by his competitor.

Line. Load. Ok. Thanks for the correction.

Passed. Drove by. Thanks for the clarification.

Little further clarification. Penetration is through soffit which wraps around a two floor colonial between the first and second floor. The top is shingle bottom is wood or vinyl. It jets pug about 3 feet.
I would think rigid would be required with a roof penetration in my area also.

This IS NOT the house I'm talking about, but this seu around the soffit is what I'm speaking of....

I see it often....... ?????

About 30 years ago one of my younger brothers worked for a pool company that was owned by a man with a lot of political clout. He would brag that they never had any trouble with inpsections because the owner was so well connected.

When he started his own company he didn't think it was so great when this company was the competition and still getting away with anything/everything.

I don't know what's happening here but it is possible to use influence to get special treatment.

Looks like good way to assure no roofy leaky around your penetration, even though it isn't all that pretty. About impossible to put a roof saddle right next to a wall or possibly even on that much of a slope. Still needs more securing though.
