I am an estimator and I would like to know where or what to refer to when figuring grounding. The scenarios, as far as I have seen so far, would be grounding inside and electric room or grounding a service. I have not done this myslef yet and for the most part there are details that show a ground to the water main etc. but I would like to know exactlyt how to do this. Would I consult the NEC?

Thanks.

I see no reason why someone would want to estimate a job if they haven't had any on-the-job experience with what they are estimating. I'm sure we have companies (estimating etc etc) doing it, but that's them!

I think as an estimator that is wise, how could you effectively estimate something if you are unaware of what it really takes?

You could- I would start with the EC you hopefully work for and get some experience to see what the job is really all about.

Grounding is covered under the NEC art. 250. it's a big confusing article, not something you just jump in to. The handbook version of the NEC would be a fine choice for a newb.
