I haven’t specifically found anything in NEC that says you can’t but is there anything against using a section of greenfield instead of expansion fittings? It’s not a matter of being cheap was quoted 5-6 week lead times on Bridgeport EC-400.

This question applies to conduits carrying telecom and also conduits with branch circuits.

I see no problem as long as you use the proper transition fittings.

I wouldn't depend on them for equipment grounding continuity.

I actually preferred this method over expansion fittings.

When you say proper transition fitting I’m assuming you mean something like a Bridgeport 290-XS? Instead of a 4” compression connector- 4” Rigid Coupling- and a 4” Greenfield connector on each side?
