What type of wiring method would you specify for a greenhouse? PVC with expansion fittings everywhere?

Steve

Even though pvc can be used, the heat tends to make it look like crap even though its strapped well. I usually use emt with compression fittings, A lot of green houses are constructed using emt as structural support any way, so I figure it will last as long as the structure anyway.

I would suggest always pulling an EGC when using EMT in greenhouses / agricultural settings. Excessive wet and corrosive conditions tend to shorten the life of fittings and EMT conduit, which could lead to the effective fault path being compromised.

I would consider PVC jacketed metal raceways if within the budget of the project.

I always spec. a ground wire anyway, so we will have that.

Does anyone think expansion fittings be needed with EMT? Or does it just depend on the run?
