Tried Greenies (not the dog treat) for the first time the other day and I have to say, I didn’t like them. The spring never seemed to really grab the wires and twist them very good. Tried the Commercial Electric brand today and same scenario.

I’ll use them in a pinch if I need to but I think I’ll stick with regular wirenuts and pigtails

They work well for me. Never had a problem with them grabbing the wires.

Since we a talking about ground wires, usually (in a resi setting) they are twisted the full length of the bare conductors long before they hit the greenie.

I used to be a pre twister but in the past year I have switched over to not pre twisting. My go-to is the red Ideal Wing Nut and they really grab the wires and put a great twist on them.

Don’t want to beat a dead horse about pre twisting or not pre twisting 🙂 I think I got the info I was looking for. If I use a greenie I will pre twist and see how I like the feel of it.

I don't care for greeniee. I don't really see any advantage in them. They take a little longer to install, the wire nut is often larger size than you would otherwise need, and of course there are limited to one tail. Of course you save one conductor count, but that never really seems to matter.
