Obviously, condition plays a part.

Decent shape, not been through WWIII..... four or five grand maybe.

Servicable, yet had all the goody used up.... 1500-2500.

Beat to pieces..... keep looking.

Are you getting all of the shoes? if not adjust the price. Steer clear of the digitals, I wish I would have never spoiled my guys. If they can't hand bend they do not need a crutch.
give them a 777 and a table a, craftsman will give you some artwork.

Don't know what they're worth, just wanted to make a couple comments. I've use one just a couple of times, IT WAS SWEET! Worked awesome on a large rigid job with several different size conduits being ran, not needing to change the shoe was great! Also worked awesome on emt, factory bends look so much better than factory 90's and extra couplings!

Another thing worth mentioning, ours was mounted on a small cart with casters under it. This bender is heavy with the cart plus a bunch of shoes stored under it. It would be a good idea to have an easy way to transport it. We have a small 4x8 tilt trailer that we use for this, it also hauls a big rigid threader and a small scissor lift if need be. I suppose you could pick it with a forklift everytime instead or just leave it bolted to the floor inside a cargo trailer, but it's nice to be able to roll it to right where you're working.

FWIW I hit the google monster... ( I'll admit I had not heard of a "555". )

... and came up w/ this link. $3k new seems better that that which has been mentioned.

AND then I noticed shoe prices!

Now that was funny but true. I always curse how heavy the 555 is yet when I think of the alternative I keep my big mouth shut. Cosecant keep thinking cosecant!!! Tripple nickel is the BOMB!!

But, a true artisan only needs a truck or trailer tire. ;)

777---thats pretty close to a tractor or trailer tire....Thats not even in the same neck of the woods as a triple nickel..

A triple nickel will outlast your knees! Only "problem pipe" for the 555 seems to be 2"EMT. However, normally if you take the time to set it up right, and properly place the seam, you can master 2"EMT too.

Put many a mile of pipe through a 555 and think it is one of the best benders on the market. I would make sure that the unit you get has a good hand switch. The ones with the big green handle are POS (switch made in Mehico and tend to stick, we had a guy lose a finger on a job from trigger being stuck) Old metal switch, with momentary bump capacity is good (and old but a good switch) for all bending.

Forgot to mention - 555 can make a lot of pretty concentric bends too!

:-?

If you think thats all rigid then I want to see you try and bend some around your knee.
I have bent older 1/2" rigid that way. It was black iron, not steel. When it bends, it makes a very wide, sweeping bend, unless you use a bender or a hickey.

Added: Remember, I'm the forum gorilla who can drill through 2x framing with one arm extended straight out. ;)
