Gridlines

I have a spreadsheet that I have lost visible gridlines. I can't find the magic button(s) to turn them back on. Selecting show/hide does nothing.
Full disclosure , this was originally a Quattro Pro spreadsheet that has been thru many updates. IDR when they disappeared.
I can add/subtract borders.

My guess is that the entire spreadsheet is set for 'white' fill (as in the color white being set as cell highlight) but needs to be set for 'no fill' (no highlighting)

That was it!! I'm having to go to each page to make the correction but

Gridlines had been checked, unchecked, and checked again. Multiple times.
