Ground Bar Question

I don't do a lot of commercial work, so just wanted to double check.

Service is 800A 208/120Y. One circuit breaker in this panel feeds a 225A subpanel adjacent to it connected by 2-1/2" GRC. Is it acceptable to drill and tap the tub of the 225A panel for a ground bar and the GRC is the EGC back to the 800A panel? 99% sure this is correct, but always want to be sure.

I'd check to see if there is a listed ground bar option first. Most panelboards that don't provide ground bars as a standard feature do offer them as an additional purchase option. And many tubs have punch-threaded holes which offer better retention than drilled and tapped holes.

But your assessment is correct...

Thanks for the quick answer. This is an OLD ITE panel. I didn't see any locations for a ground bar included in the tub, but I'll look again. Photo shows my installation.

I went back and looked at my other photos and couldn't see any factory threads for any attachments, so I guess what I did is the best option. Other ideas? Thanks again.
